Senior Investment Manager - Advanced Materials

Combining broad technical experience with a longstanding commitment to tackling global challenges with applied innovation, Graham thrives on identifying and enabling less obvious connections – parsing trends between industries to find new technology winners, translating strategies between diverse sectors, and promoting open innovation between startups and global corporations. Based in Emerald’s Toronto office, Graham is constantly seeking and supporting innovative startups which apply novel material solutions to challenges in renewable energy, mobility, advanced manufacturing, and next-gen electronics.

Prior to joining Emerald in 2015, Graham conducted research on a broad range of materials science topics, including photovoltaics, energy storage, nanotechnology and optical materials, with leading researchers at University of Toronto, University of Illinois, and Dalhousie University. He holds a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering and Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto, a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Physics from Dalhousie University.
