Graham Carey

Investment Manager - Advanced Materials

Based in Emerald’s Toronto office, Graham Carey covers advanced materials startups with a focus on solar, automotive materials, optical/electronic materials and nanomaterial technologies. He is involved in all phases of the investment process: sourcing, evaluating, selecting and supporting novel advanced materials startups from early diligence to exit.

Prior to joining Emerald in 2015, Graham conducted research on a broad range of cleantech topics, including photovoltaics, energy storage, nanotechnology and advanced materials, at the University of Toronto, the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign, and Dalhousie University. Graham holds a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering and Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Physics from Dalhousie University. Graham is fluent in English and French.
