
Lucrèce Foufopoulos – De Ridder
Ms. Lucrèce Foufopoulos is a performance-driven, creative, and transformational leader with over three decades of experience in the Specialty Chemicals & Materials Industry. She served leading multinational corporations such as Tyco (h-Raychem), the Dow Chemical group (including h-Dow Corning and h-Rohm and Haas), Eastman Chemical, and the Borealis Group.
Ms. Foufopoulos has a proven track record of accomplishment in business leadership (P&L), strategic planning, marketing and sales excellence, as well as technology and innovation, across a broad range of downstream industries. She excels at turning around business portfolios for sustainable growth and has a passion for climate action, science and technology, and people and organizational effectiveness.
In January 2024, Ms. Foufopoulos transitioned from an executive role at the Borealis Group, a leading provider of innovative solutions in the fields of polyolefins, base chemicals and fertilizers, to an independent board director and senior advisor role, serving a diverse portfolio of public and private companies, in Sika, Amcor, Tronox, Quaker Houghton and most recently is nominated to join the board of Sabic.
From January 2019 to January 2024, she served the Borealis Group as Executive Vice-President Polyolefins and Chief Technology Officer, and board director of Borouge Pte, a joint venture between Borealis and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). She also advised the Plastics Industry Association Plastics Europe as a board director and chaired the advocacy committee.
Prior to Borealis, she was Vice President and General Manager of the Rubber Additives business at Eastman Chemical, having joined the company as Chief Commercial Officer in 2014.
Before joining Eastman Chemical, Lucrèce Foufopoulos held a variety of positions at industrial multinationals. Her responsibilities have included general / business (P&L) leadership, commercial, marketing & strategy leadership, as well as research & application development across a broad range of industries spanning transportation, healthcare, food & nutrition, electronics, construction, energy and water treatment, in Belgium, France, Switzerland, China and the United States.
Ms. Foufopoulos holds executive business education from INSEAD (Paris) and IMD (Lausanne), a Master’s degree in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Ghent (Belgium), and a Master’s degree in Polymers and Composites Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL), in collaboration with five European universities.
She is married and holds dual Swiss Belgian citizenship and resides in Switzerland.
