Zürich, Switzerland: Beraunberri, a family investment holding company, has joined Emerald’s industrial transformation fund as a limited partner. The collaboration aims to help Beraunberri advance its venture capital (VC) activity as part of a broader strategy to become a key player in the sustainability and clean-energy transition.
Spain-based Beraunberri is the investment office of José Galíndez and his family, which has previously made a number of investments in sustainability-related and -adjacent sectors, including solar energy, electric mobility, environmental technology and telecommunications infrastructure. The Emerald partnership is intended to expose Beraunberri to VC opportunities in fast-growing fields at the intersection of industry and sustainability, focusing as well on technologies applied to water management, infrastructure, industrial processes and logistics.
Family offices like Beraunberri have been investing in Emerald’s funds since the early 2000’s, with current investors in this category including Ireon, Skion and Tupras. Emerald’s extensive network, deal flow and expertise enable these investors to make a meaningful contribution to advancing key technologies that will improve lives and livelihoods in a sustainable manner.
