When we started Emerald 25 years ago, I didn’t just want to build a successful venture firm—I wanted to build a team that shared a real sense of purpose, that stuck together through the ups and downs, and that was driven to make a lasting impact through innovation.
At the heart of it all has been a deep belief in sustainable prosperity—that doing good and doing well can absolutely go hand in hand. But even the best strategies fail without the right culture. And, as I often say, culture is what shows up when things get tough.
