We are delighted to announce that Susana Quintana-Plaza will be joining our advisory board, effective immediately. She brings a distinguished career in energy and innovation to the Emerald family, with decades of experience in clean power and next-generation technologies. “Her familiarity with our target sectors and investor needs—in addition to her long-standing personal relationship with Emerald—makes her the perfect fit for our advisory board,” said Emerald managing partner Gina Domanig.
Susana previously served on the board of directors and executive committee of Galp, where she built their renewables and decentralized energy businesses from the ground up. She also oversaw the construction of a lithium refinery facility in Portugal with the strong support of the Portuguese government and EU.
Susana began her career at the Boeing Commercial Airplane Group in Seattle in 1998, where she held several positions. She has also held senior roles in Booz Allen Hamilton, GE and E.ON, where she spearheaded the firm’s venture capital initiatives. She also served as a partner at next47, the corporate venture arm of Siemens.
She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aeronautical engineering from the University of Washington.
