Franko Vrhovac

Based in our Zurich office, Franko Vrhovac is a sector specialist focusing on the sustainable packaging sector. He is involved in all phases of the investment process: sourcing, evaluating, selecting and supporting novel packaging start-ups from early diligence to exit.

Before joining Emerald, Franko worked in various technical and business functions across the value chain in the packaging world. His journey started with developing and implementing innovative materials and packaging solutions in the Liquid packaging industry with Elopak and key players in the board and paper industry as a Senior Project Engineer. His passion for collaboration and innovation lead him to apply his knowledge in sourcing as a Category manager from primary to tertiary packaging and answer the needs of the chocolate and cocoa industry with Barry Callebaut. He then accelerated the transition to more sustainable packaging with Bosch Power Tool Accessories as Sustainable packaging implementation manager, engaging internal and external players through innovation, manufacturing and design thinking. During his career, he supported the transition to more sustainable packaging by collaborating with key players in the FMCG and packaging industry.

Franko holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry with a specialty in paper, print media, biomaterials and converting from INP-Pagora of Grenoble. He is fluent in French, English and Croatian.
